GOD2XB1

March 10th, 2010

Rab released GOD2XB1, so Xbox 1 GOD support is now possible:
[QUOTE]
This trivial tool will make these modifications to the god package until the new iso2god.
All it does is change that one byte and then rehash the file for you (simplifying these 2 steps):
- Open the CON stub and change the byte at offset 0×346 from 0×70 to 0×50.
- Calculate the SHA-1 hash from offset 0×344 to 0xAFFF (you should be hashing 0xACBC bytes of data) and write the hash value at offset 0×32C.

Power Gig Music Game Includes Real Instrument!

March 10th, 2010

As much as everyone loves playing band games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band by pressing buttons on instrument-shaped controllers, it was surely only a matter of time before a games developer took the next logical step and came up with a game that uses real instruments. Well, that time has finally come, with Seven45 Studios today announcing Power Gig: Rise of the SixString for the PS3.

Seven45 Studios is a new publisher, developer and hardware manufacturer, and the sister company to music instrument makers First Act, which of course puts it in the ideal position to make the first major band game to use a functioning six-string electric guitar.

The guitar features Seven45’s proprietary technology that can distinguish and recognize gamers’ input all along the guitar, making it as easy to pick up and play as the usual band game button controllers. Seven45’s guitar can also be plugged into an amp and used as a real electric guitar though, as well as a game controller. Here’s Seven45 Studios Chairman and CEO Bernard Chiu talking about the game.

“Power Gig: Rise of the SixString is meant to be the answer for all of those gamers who have wanted to take their band game experience to the next level; we’re confident that players will agree that the transition from the existing games is both seamless and exhilarating. We believe that there is something unmatchable about the feeling of an authentic guitar in your hands, and Power Gig brings that excitement to all gamers with an instrument that absolutely anyone can pick up and play.”

Power Gig: Rise of the SixString will be available for the PS3 this fall.
